First, we'll visit Ronda, perched on a plateau crossed by the Guadalevín River gorge. We'll marvel at the breathtaking views from its most photographed spot, the impressive Puente Nuevo (New Bridge), which connects the old and new cities over a 100-meter-deep chasm. Led by our local guides, we'll visit this walled city, the subject of stories and legends about bandits and bullfighters, and learn firsthand the many reasons why Ronda is one of the most visited cities in Andalusia. As the Czech poet Rainer Maria Rilke once said after traveling throughout Europe, "I have searched everywhere for the city of my dreams, and at last I have found it in Ronda... There is nothing more unexpected in Spain than this wild, mountainous city." We'll enjoy free time for lunch and recharge our batteries for our next destination.
Next, we'll visit the beautiful town of Setenil de las Bodegas, a maze of streets literally embedded in the canyon of the Guadalporcún River. The rustic beauty of its traditional architecture, where the white facades and the ochre of the stone become its hallmarks, and above all, the uniqueness of its cave-like streets, will captivate us with its charm. The town is an open-air geology lesson, divided by the river, with the Caves of the Sun on one side and the Caves of Shadow on the other. We can enjoy a beautiful walk beneath these ancient stones, where you can walk in the rain... without getting wet! After a little leisure time in Setenil, our bus will take us to Ronda, Andalusia's dream city.
