This five-day journey through Spain and Portugal combines rich history, cultural heritage, and breathtaking landmarks. The trip begins in Madrid with a drive to Salamanca, a monumental university city where travelers can explore the historic quarter and admire the renowned Baroque-style Plaza Mayor. Continuing into Portugal, the first evening is spent in Porto.
In Porto, a panoramic tour reveals its UNESCO-listed treasures, including the Cathedral, the Stock Exchange Palace, and the Church of Santa Clara. The visit concludes with a stop at a local wine cellar to enjoy a tasting of the world-famous Port wine, before time at leisure.
Day three takes us to Coimbra, home to one of Europe’s oldest universities and a cradle of fado music, followed by Fátima, a major pilgrimage site with its Basilica and Sanctuary. The day ends in Lisbon, where an optional evening of traditional fado awaits.
A full city tour the next morning showcases Lisbon’s highlights: Eduardo VII Square, Rossio Square, Avenida da Liberdade, Madragoa, and the Belém district with its iconic Tower, Monument to the Discoveries, and Jerónimos Monastery.
The tour concludes with a return to Spain, stopping in Mérida to explore its impressive Roman Theatre and Amphitheatre before arriving back in Madrid.
